Days 10-12 Out of 365

January 29, 2011
Day 10: January 29, 2011
This was the last day I had at home before going back to school. I had a ton of errands to run and was busy most of the day, so I didn't really get to do any fun. I returned some ribbon that I had bought at Michael's, stopped at Target to look for a new camera bag and then dropped by Lifeway one last time before I went back. I had meant to take this picture on Friday, which was my last day of work there, but silly me, I forgot to bring my camera with me to work. But it works out, because I got it on Saturday and got to say some final good byes to my co-workers, who are all really great. I'm excited to go back and work with them again on the next break.
The rest of the night was spent just trying to put together everything I wanted to bring with me to Messiah. I didn't get to sleep Saturday night until 3:30 AM or so, because of laundry and packing. But that was alright and clearly I survived.

Day 11: January 30, 2011
This was Sunday morning as I was leaving my cul-de-sac for school. I'd also settled on taking this picture because I felt like it would be a good reflection of the day. And it really was. I also like the stop sign in the background.
Sunday was just hectic, going from church to home to get the last minute items I wanted, to driving up to the Panera in Chambersburg, stopping at the Chambersburg Target to find out the camera bag I liked wasn't there, stopping at the Carlisle Target to find the camera bag was there and then getting to campus, dropping my clothes and room items in my room, only to rush down to the pit orchestra rehearsal in Climenhaga by two. It was busy, but I prefer it that way. It helps keep the loneliness at bay. That night Vicki and I were really excited to watch Desperate Housewives, but it was another rerun. We got to bed eventually and although I was really exhausted from staying up the night before and running around, I didn't sleep well.

Day 12: January 31, 2011
This was Monday night, the evening of my first day of class. It was ridiculously busy, though I think that once the musical is out of the way, I will be much happier with the schedule. I start Mondays in Music Theory at 9:10, then go to Sightsinging, French, lunch, violin lessons, Music History 1 and then String rehearsal for the symphony orchestra. It is a full day, but it'll be over by five or so. The only issue was last night we had musical rehearsal from 6:30 to 10:45, so it wasn't being cooperative for any down time at all. Still, the musical was fun and though I can't play a decent amount of the music, I'm enjoying it. I think its a great show, I just wish I could see it from way down in the pit!
At any rate, this reflection is meant to not really show that I'm already in my pajamas and ready for bed, because I was just so tired at this point, I wasn't going to try for anything fancy. Though, it can be used as a reminder of how much more tea I drink at school then at home. I've already had probably six cups of tea since I've been here, and that's about as much as I drank at home all break.

Days 8-9 Out of 365

January 27, 2011
Day 8: January 27, 2011
I was frustrated that I've had very few pictures that actually had my face, but then it ended up not having my face either. I like the light and what not though. Once I took this picture, I just let it go. I'm already getting lazy with this.
Also, I should get bonus points for the reflection in the lens.

Day 9: January 28, 2011
Today I decided to really try for this one, and do something different. I took all my little figurines and set them up on my bookshelf, which has a small representation of all the books I have. The figurines are from many different people in my life as well, at different moments in life. I am pretty content with this attempt. Though I did have issues with choosing which picture to use, which is why I mixed the two. I like both pictures on their own as well.

Days 1-7 Out of 365

January 20, 2011
Day 1: January 20, 2011
I got my Nikon D3100 on January 19. However, I was pretty sick that day, so I put of the beginning of this experiment to the next day. It was a Thursday and I worked at some point on this day. I honestly don't remember that I did much, because I was focusing on trying to feel better so I could go into work in the afternoon.

Day 2: January 21, 2011
This picture was actually taken in my college dorm room. Since I got back from campus for winter break my laptop has been down, so I haven't really had much internet access until recently when I realized I needed to start checking my email for classes that start next week. So I dropped off my laptop at the student ITS, dropped some things off in my room and visited the music building in hopes of picking up some music to work on. I got two out of those three things done, so I'm content. I'd thought that I was going to run into my roommate while I was there but it turned out that she had a track meet and had already left campus for that. Oh well, I'll be seeing her next week as classes start.

Day 3: January 22, 2011
This day was fairly busy if I remember right. I had work in the morning and then left at four. But I went back to work at nine after the store closed to help with catalogue change. This happens about every three weeks, or once a month. I'm really lucky to work at Lifeway, its got great people and great customers (usually). Anyways, this must have been between my two shifts or after my last shift. Either way, I like the multiple reflections.

Day 4: January 23, 2011
This was my last day in church before I go back to campus, I think. I'm not entirely sure about that yet, but if it is the last day, it was a good last day. Worship was good, then after the service Brendan invited a lot of people over to his place for bacon and eggs. It turned into this huge gathering of young adults, donuts, grapes, orange juice, young adults' small children and of course lots of bacon and eggs. It was really nice, I'm glad I went. It was exciting to hear about the current wedding plans going on with people, I love weddings. When the time comes for those, I'm most certainly taking my 365 picture at the wedding!
Anyways, this was hurriedly taken as I was leaving Brendan's place when I realized his window had this awesome reflection, but then I looked down and noticed the water. I regret not getting the window photo, but I like this one as well.

Day 5: January 24, 2011
On Monday, I don't remember much again. I know I went to work then came home. I cleaned a little in my room since I'm going back to school soon. I watched Pretty Little Liars with my little sister because she wouldn't leave the TV. I felt disappointed that day. I don't like the way things are going in some respects.
I got finished watching Pretty Little Liars and decided to try and take a picture of the multiple reflections that I can get in my bathroom mirror. Its never worked out too well, and even this isn't quite what I wanted, but its close enough. I am content with it, though I know its not very good.
Also, it slightly reminds me of the one scene in Black Swan. Where she looks behind her and she sees herself scratching her back in the mirror behind her. That was such a great movie.

January 25, 2011
Day 6: January 25, 2011
I took this before work, and I can tell because I'm wearing my khakis and white tank top that goes under our burgundy shirts that are part of the dress code. I'm glad I finally got the focus I wanted and I like the distortion in the reflection from the door knobs curves.

January 26, 2011
Day 7: January 26, 2011
Yesterday I went to work and then came home. I had driven myself to work although it had snowed the night before and there was still some sizable amounts on the roads. But after I had been there for two or three hours, the snow picked up again. It ended up that we closed at the end of my shift at five and my parents came to get me so I wouldn't have to drive on the roads. It really was horrible out and I would have been terrified if I had done the driving home.
But I got home and felt isolated as I have been of late. I'm losing things I never wanted to lose, so I'm torn about what I should do. Though I'm not even sure about what my options are. But I'm still constantly waiting for that call or text, waiting for some reassurance, waiting to wake up from the dream.
It won't happen anytime soon.

Purpose?

The purpose of this blogger is to document my attempt at a 365 photography challenge. I have friends who are truely gifted photographers, so I am not by any means saying that I am of their caliber. However, this challenge is something that I would like to try for myself since I just purchased a Nikon D3100 and am trying to learn the ropes of what I can do with it.
For my version of the 365 challenge, I'll be doing things a little bit differently. I do not plan on sticking with one theme for the entire year. Instead I'll change my themes each month, in hopes that I can combat boredom with sticking with the same theme. For January 20- February 19, 2011, my theme is a knock off of one of my aforementioned amazing friend's project. I will be doing self portraits in reflections. I will be posting what I have as of right now soon, though once I get my laptop back from my college, things will be a lot easier.

Don't expect anything fantastic, because I sure don't.
